Join us for an important community health talk on diabetes research, delivered by the RPH Research Foundation’s Career Advancement Fellow Dr Lakshini Herat. Dr Herat is a diabetes researcher with the Dobney Hypertension Centre conducting research in the heart of Perth. With over 1.7 million Australians living with diabetes, it is critical that we understand the disease and explore innovative solutions to improve outcomes for those affected. Dr Herat is conducting a world-first research project that is investigating the potential of new glucose-lowering treatments in preventing diabetic complications in the eye and kidney, and she will be sharing her insights and findings with us. You can have your blood pressure checked for free before the event. This event is brought to you by the RPH Research Foundation and City of Perth Library and is a great opportunity to learn more about diabetes.
