Courtyard Refurbishment
Levelling and installing new underground services is well underway, marking the start of transformation of the courtyard between the Research and Admin buildings. The removal of existing brick pavers, redundant retaining walls and stairs will bring increased noise disturbances, but this is a necessary step in creating a better space for everyone.
Once the refurbishment is complete the courtyard will offer a year-round space that can be enjoyed by staff and visitors.
Lobby Upgrade
As previously communicated, the Research Building lobby will also undergo improvements. While the scope remains unchanged, discussions with the builder have resulted in a revised schedule. Stakeholders will be given ample notice ahead of any disruptions to ensure continuity and minimise impact.
The Research Building will remain accessible during its usual opening hours throughout the construction period.
Carpark
Carpark works may require temporary reallocation of some car bays to accommodate the carpark expansion. We will be in contact with each lessee to provide a temporary bay during this process.
Coffee Shop
One of Perth’s leading café operators is set to open in the research precinct, they will be a welcome addition providing a convenient spot to recharge, meet or to simply take a break.
Please keep up to date with all the mentioned changes by following progress on our website www.rphresearchfoundation.org.au
Building works are being carried out by Kardan Construction, an award-winning Perth-based company with a strong commitment to community engagement. While the emphasis remains on project outcomes, it is worth noting that Kardan is a Registered Aboriginal Business and a Supply Nation-certified provider. Their commitment to creating employment and upskilling opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is both meaningful and impactful.
Below are some of the progress shots taken this week with underground services installed and preparation for ramps and retaining walls taking shape.
