No one starts their day expecting they will need to attend the ED. Yet most people will, at least once in their lifetime, enter the emergency department and put their lives into the hands of emergency clinicians.

RPH Research Foundation is committed to advancing emergency medicine research for the benefit of the patients who come through the doors of not just Royal Perth Hospital's Emergency Department (ED), but EDs across Australia.

Why Emergency Medicine?

Research drives continuous improvements in patient care, benefiting both RPH patients and others worldwide.

RPH Research Foundation proudly funds emergency medicine research, ensuring patients receive the best treatment options.

“Integrating research with clinical practice puts us a step ahead. The best hospitals are the ones doing a lot of research,” says Professor Daniel Fatovich.

Research Projects

Ongoing research tackles sepsis awareness, illicit drug identification through the Emerging Drugs Network of Australia (EDNA), and treatment options for pneumothorax.

Thanks to generous supporters like you, RPH Research Foundation funds groundbreaking emergency medicine research that challenges the status quo and improves patient care. Our competitive grants continue to drive innovation in treatment.
