Courtyard Refurbishment Complete at the Research and Innovation Centre

The RPH Research Foundation is pleased to announce the completion of the courtyard refurbishment project between the administration building at 50 Murray Street and the Research and Innovation Centre at 56 Murray Street.

The upgraded courtyard has been designed as a shared, welcoming space for staff, researchers, tenants, visitors and members of the public. The revitalised area improves accessibility and usability, creating a central place to connect, take a break, and engage with the broader precinct.

As part of the refurbishment, the courtyard now includes a new coffee shop operated by La Veen Coffee. The café has already become a popular meeting point for Royal Perth Hospital staff and those working in and around the Research and Innovation Centre.

The project was delivered by Kardan Construction, a Perth-based, Supply Nation certified and Registered Aboriginal Business.

Their involvement reflects a strong commitment to quality delivery, community benefit and meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This refurbishment marks an important step in enhancing the Research and Innovation Centre precinct, transforming an underutilised space into an accessible and inviting environment that supports collaboration and wellbeing.

If you are visiting the Research and Innovation Centre or are in the area, we invite you to step inside, enjoy a coffee, and experience the new courtyard for yourself.
