Dr Lauren Giudicatti Receives Cardiac Imaging Prize

Congratulations to Dr Lauren Giudicatti from Royal Perth Hospital who was recently presented with the Cardiac Imaging Prize at the 71st Annual Scientific Meeting of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand held in Adelaide.

Dr Giudicatti presented on The Diagnostic Yield and Clinical Utility of CMR in Myocardial Infarction with Non-Obstructed Coronary Arteries. This research was supported by RPH Research Foundation with a 2018 Seed Funding grant and looked at the clinical impact of Cardiac MRI on a condition known as MINOCA (myocardial infarction with non-obstructed coronary arteries). This project was led by Dr Adil Rajwani along with his team which included Dr Lauren Giudicatti.

This real-world practice study affirms the clinical utility of Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) as a diagnostic tool for MINOCA and demonstrates that CMR-confirmed MINOCA patients have a concerningly high risk of adverse outcomes and ongoing symptom burden.

RPH Research Foundation is proud to have supported this research.
